We ran the same RoleDealer the app uses — 10,000 deals for fairness, plus 500 newcomer trials for the “new players get mafia” rumor.

How a deal works
- Expand each role by its seat count into a flat deck.
- Shuffle the deck several times.
- Shuffle the player list several times.
- Assign deck → players, then shuffle once more.
No memory between games. Fresh entropy every deal.
New players ≠ more mafia
Rumor: the last person added is more likely mafia. Test: 9 veterans + 1 newcomer at the end of the list, 500 deals. Newcomer landed mafia 17.8% — slightly under the fair 20%.
Verdict: assignment is fair. Newcomers are not pushed into mafia. Full tables and trials are on the fairness report page.

What is the Mafia Moderator app?
A mobile facilitator for the table God in in-person Mafia games. It manages players, roles, scenarios, and night flow — it is not an online multiplayer client.
Are role deals random and fair?
Yes. The app uses RoleDealer. Across 10,000 test deals, each unique role landed near 10% per player, and roles changed about 90% of the time between games.
Do new players get mafia more often?
No. In 500 trials with 9 veterans plus one newcomer at the end of the list, the newcomer was mafia 17.8% of the time versus a fair 20% expectation.
How do I download the Mafia app?
It is completely free. On iPhone and desktop use the web app (PWA); on Android install from Google Play or the direct APK link in the download section on this page.
How many players are required?
At least five selected players are required to start a game.
